Why am I so lazy? Do I procrastinate to ensure that my potential failure is a cause of my slothfulness instead of because I'm an idiot? Yes, that must be it. Finding out that I'm really an idiot would just be too painful.
Self-depreciation (though in moderation, somewhat amusing) does not suit you. And besides, I'm not sure your model is correctly defined.
"you=f(lazy, stupid)" is far too few variables; having read you column since your first post, I consider myself authoritative enough to label you as a complex, comprehenssive, multi-faceted individual: now is not the time to sell yourself short.
Thank you Mike. It's quite nice to hear that self depreciation doesn't suit me. I realize that self depreciation is not hot. As someone who's holds your opinion in high regard, and firmly believes you are authoritative enough to label me all those lovely things, I thank you. Don't take my lazy, stupid shpeal too seriously though...I wrote it when I was feeling vulnerable about botching a no brainer question on my biochem exam. I definitely made that post at a low point. mere trifles, I'm feeling much better these days.
Biochem, eh? Do you get to program DNA and such? I want a fir tree that eats solicitors as they approach my door.
It's always the silly mistakes that get a person during exams; the bonus to this is that you get the difficult questions without thinking twice, or even noticing that you just solved a problem that, the professor spent her Dissertation explaining, could never be solved.
It's what happens.
The other day, I got my Resource Management midterm back: 45%. Luckily, I've known Dr. Lee for a few years now: "Mike, that exam was terrible; I know you can do better--You could still get an 'A' in this class, but you'll have to work for it now."

Anyhow, what tale of woe and intrugue can you share that has sent you down the spiral?

Anyhow, I'm totally digressing here.
