Let me just give you another point of view, that pertains to me and my limitations. It just might reverberate with you too.
I think that in North America, we are groomed to believe that we should all be capable of greatness and success. The attainment of "Stuff & Titles" is our mantra. I think that this erroneously sets us up for disappointment and failure. I spent the greater part of my adulthood unhappy with myself in this regard. It is only as I reach middle age, that I can forgive myself for being "only" average. Once I let the unreasonable expectations fade, and accepted myself and others with all our bumps and warts, happiness grew in my heart and mind.
Do yourself,and those around you a favor, and allow yourself to be happy with your plight. It is not complacence that I am espousing; rather, placid acceptance.
I think we all have potential to be happy. What does it matter what we do if we are happy. I know someone who got doctorate in chemical engineering and yet they don't do that for a job they enjoy working with kids and they look after kids now for a job. So that what they enjoy. Don't get so caught up in I must be great, and I must be someone. Do what you enjoy!
